VetCap®, an innovative new way to apply pour-on without handling your cattle, has been designed by cattle ranchers for cattle ranchers. VetCap requires no herding or corralling, and reduces handling stress by administering pour-on in the field. The Advanced Insecticide Management or "AIM" line of products are being developed by SmartVet and AgriLabs for delivery using the VetCap system. AiM-c is the first pour-on, designed specifically for remote delivery, to obtain regulatory approval in the United States. AiM-c controls parasites such as horn flies, face flies, biting and sucking lice. Distribution of AiM-c in the US is done through our partnership with industry leader AgriLabs. AgriLabs has the largest national network of independent distributors in the United States, operating 175 branch locations and supported by more than 1,200 sales representatives, providing access to around 20,000 dealerships.
Using VetCap's Best Practice methods, a cattleman working alone can dose over 100 cattle per hour. Simple positive reinforcement techniques like putting out blocks or mineral licks, keep the cattle quiet while you dose them from the safety and comfort of your truck or ATV. It's simple, convenient and saves time, labor costs and money.
In studies over five years, VetCap has proven an effective way to deliver a range of parasite control. Its use to control horn flies has been researched by the US Department of Agriculture (for the USDA research report click here). VetCap is covered by a suite of patents and patents pending across all of the major cattle producing countries. This has allowed SmartVet to invest in the development of a range of innovative products which exploit the potential of this exciting new delivery method. The picture above of a standard VetCap GelCap and a paintball illustrates the substantial size difference between the two. VetCap GelCaps deliver a payload of 10 millilitres and the design has been optimised through 5 years of field research & development. The AIM range of products can only be used with the VetCap Delivery System.
